Rizzi Cityscapes

Hello 2/3 Families,

The 2/3 artists have begun a new project inspired by the American pop artist James Rizzi. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Rizzi is known for his colorful, playful and cartoon-like depictions of New York City. Below is one of his works titled “Make Friends with Life and People” 🙂

Alexander Lieventhal, who manages and sells Rizzi’s work, has said “any child can look at it and understand what he’s trying to convey: a celebration of life.”

After looking at some of Rizzi’s work and talking about his artistic style, students began creating their own cityscapes. I think they were inspired by Rizzi because the creativity was off the charts! You can check out the progress of a few below.

Happy Halloween weekend everyone 🙂
